Who can you help or what problems can you solve?  I can assist those who have no estate plan [i.e., no will or trust or other method of orderly asset transfer upon death] to create an estate plan. I can review existing estate plans to see whether they are still effective to accomplish your goals in light of  changes in circumstances and/or changes in laws that may have occurred since the estate plan was created. 
 
How can you help people reach their goals?   Estate planning is part of the financial planning process. I can work with your financial planner to create the legal documents that will constitute your estate plan.

What is a good referral for you?   Anyone who does not have written estate plan documents, or who has them but they were prepared more than six years ago.

What does not constitute a good referral?  Someone who is not prepared to pitch in and do their share of the work.  “Work” in this sense means coming up with the facts and paperwork necessary to create the legal documents.   For example, in estate planning I will usually need copies of documents concerning real estate, mortgages, insurance, and any prior estate planning documents, such as previously signed wills or trusts. Financial data is needed as well; it is of course kept in confidence. 

What is your DREAM referral?  My dream referral would be a financial planner who has clients who need estate planning documents drafted.
